Loving Annabelle was showed for the first time on the Melbourne Queer Film Festival, Australia, on the 8th of March, 2006.
The most important roles where those of Annabelle (Erin Kelly), Simone Bradley (Diane Gradly), Colins (Laura Breckenridge), Kristen (Michelle Horn) and Catherine Pregrum (Gustine Fudickar). The movie was filmed on Marymount High School, California, which is actually a real catholic school.
It was obviously a romantic drama.
Tag-line: One student...One teacher...One secret.
The plot (taken from IMDB):
Annabelle is the wise-beyond-her-years newcomer to an exclusive Catholic girls school. Having been expelled from her first two schools she's bound to stir some trouble. Sparks fly though when sexual chemistry appears between her and the Head of her dorm and English teacher, Simone Bradley. Annabelle pursues her relentlessly and until the end the older woman manages to avoid the law.
Opinion:
The one thing I find redeeming about this film is the tension that builds between the two leads. The filmmaker does a good job of teasing the audience time and time again, to the point where I just gave up any hope of them getting together. She successfully took the film to a point where she could take one of two routes: they end up together, or they never take that chance. The choice she makes works for the tone of the film, even if the ending is a tad abrupt.
What should I do?
